"Asha Veal is a wonderful writer, editor, and collaborator, and a tremendous asset to any situation, organization, or company. I was lucky enough to work with her at V-Day and witness her passion, intelligence, commitment, and dedication on a daily basis. I would hire Asha for any position at anytime—anywhere."
--Allison Prouty, Associate Producer of Women's Project & Productions, New York City

"In 2006, Asha Veal served as editor for a catalogue that documented the artistic traditions of the Crow—Apsaalooke—Native American Tribe. We worked together on the project as colleagues at a tribal art gallery in New York. To begin, I spent time on the reservation in Montana, interviewing relatives and friends. Then Asha took the raw transcriptions and edited them together. In the end, our gallery team created a successful publication that portrayed the heritage and stories of this culture. The project brought great pride to my family and community, and now resides in collections in the U.S. and abroad. I would recommend Asha in a heartbeat."
--Ramona Medicine Crow, visual artist, New York City

"The ability of a nonprofit organization to realize its mission relies heavily on its ability to raise public awareness—and to raise funds. Nonprofits need publicity materials and grant proposals that portray identity and vision, as well as logical reasons to support a proposed program. Thus, it is key for a nonprofit's writer to be extremely effective in the capacity of comprehensive and clear presentation. Asha has demonstrated these skills, along with a genuine interest in the communities that she works with."
--Antonio Thompson, Education Grant Writer at Teachers College, Columbia University, and Deputy Director of The Brooklyn Music and Arts Program

"Asha Veal has a very perceptive listening ear, as I discovered when we studied together at The New School for our Master of Fine Arts in creative writing. Her very discerning ability to read manuscripts and 'hear' how phrases meet the readers' ear made Asha's feedback invaluable to my work. Asha's creative approach to various genres of reading and writing make her well versed and capable to offer guidance to other writers. As a broadcaster on national television and a print journalist, I respect her skills."
--Gloria Joseph, freelance writer, New York City

"Asha Veal is one of the most extraordinary writers I've encountered. She has published several pieces in my magazine, and each one is insightful, fresh, and exquisitely written."
--Celia Johnson, Publisher of Slice magazine, New York City

"Asha and I first worked together in New York and Vietnam on a university-sponsored documentary about the generational effects of war. Since moving into our professional careers, we have continued to collaborate on a variety of art and humanities projects. I have been astounded by how Asha effortlessly elevates the quality, creativity, and overall scope of each one. Her intuitive writing style and ability to clearly think through any problems that arise will benefit all writing endeavors!"
--Elan Bogarine, artist/filmmaker, New York City

"Asha Veal is the best. In 2005, I chose her as my assistant at an organization to support the education of children in the red light district of Calcutta, India. Asha's commitment and generosity of spirit aided to the work of running the operation and raising funds—and made my days more enjoyable to spend with such a lovely coworker."
--Cassi Bryn Michalik, Paris Freelance Correspondent

"Watching Asha's diligence and intimacy with her writing over the years has been a joy. Her work is very well thought out, and tastefully communicated. One of the things that I like most about her work is that she does not write about meaningless things. Asha takes on projects that not only mean something to her, but make a difference in the lives of people around her."
--Doc Golden, Content Editor of Times Square Church, New York City
